Free CDs!

I am giving away free CDs this month!  Become a fan on my facebook page and "like" the status updates that announce each drawing.  Free CDs also mean free shipping, even outside the U.S.  If you would rather receive an album download instead of a CD, that is also an option.  By the way, all information is kept private.

After the deadline for each drawing I will make a spreadsheet and use a random number generator to select a number.  The name next to that number will be the winner!  I will have at least 4 drawings this month and you can enter as many times as you like but you can only win one drawing this month.  So if you don't win the first time (or the second... or the third...) just keep trying!

Announcements of winners will be made on my facebook page, on this blog, and on my website.

Painting on the Walls!

There is something about painting directly onto a wall that feels so daring and wonderful!  It's like being a kid again, knowing that you aren't supposed to use those crayons on the wall but it just seems like the most fun thing to do.  So when our kids got naughty with some markers and also needed a bit of a room makeover, I took full advantage of the situation and painted murals in each room, not only hiding marker stains (Sharpie of course) but "wowing" them with their new bedroom artwork!

After Thanksgiving dinner, my mother mentioned that she wanted something interesting on the wall in her dining room.  There was "too much white space" between the windows.  20 minutes later I found my dad's brushes and paints.  My brother was in a bit of shock, as it happened so quickly (he likes to think these things through for a very long time).  My dad was too overwhelmed by grandchildren for it to sink in, and my mom was mostly entertained by the whole event.

If I have an opportunity to paint trees on someone's wall, I don't wait for them to change their minds!  I like the mural in their dining room.  With the lacy curtains it reminds me of something from a Scandinavian folklore storybook.

Several sellers have made generous contributions to the "Help the Gulf Coast" shop on Etsy.  A quote from the shop's announcement...

"This is a collective etsy shop to help the gulf coast recover from the massive BP oil spill. Etsy sellers have donated their items so that 100% of the proceeds can be given to charity.  We've set up a separate paypal account for this shop. 100% of the proceeds (after etsy & paypal fees) will be donated to OxFam America and the National Wildlife Federation. Both organizations have given us permission to fundraise on their behalf."

I have donated prints of my original painting, "Fairy Tale Forest" and 5 CDs of my album, "The World Beyond" to this shop.   If they sell quickly, I will probably contribute more.  Even though it seems small in the face of something so huge, it makes me happy to be a part of a larger effort that is working to make positive changes!

The print is 8.5" x 11" and comes sealed in a protective sleeve.  I sign and date all of my prints on the back, and they are printed with a professional Epson printer on heavyweight paper.

The CD includes Oblivion, Firefly Rendezvous, Fairy Story, A Waltz in the Woods, Nocturnal Sonata, The Arrival, Midsummer Muse, Nereides, First Snow, Timeless, Majestic, Mirabella, The World Beyond, La Vie en Roslyn, and Fall.  (53.3 minutes)

Hearts for Haiti

There is a new store on Etsy, "Hearts for Haiti," to raise money for rebuilding Haiti! Many Etsy stores have donated items and the proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders. Twig Studio has donated items, including the Valentine's Day cards shown. The selection is quite incredible and many items include free shipping!
